Joanne Greenbaum lives and works in New York City and earned a BA from Bard College (Annandale-on-Hudson, NY). Over the past twenty years, Greenbaum has participated in numerous exhibitions across the United States and Europe. In 2018, The Tufts University Art Galleries at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston, MA) mounted Joanne Greenbaum: Things We Said Today, a comprehensive solo exhibition that travelled to the Otis College of Art and Design (Los Angeles, CA). In 2008, a career spanning survey of her work, with a corresponding catalogue, was mounted by Haus Konstruktiv (Zurich, CH) and travelled to Museum Abteiberg (Monchengladbach, DE). Additional solo exhibitions include the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art (Overland Park, KS), Van Horn Gallery (Dusseldorf, DE), Rachel Uffner Gallery (New York, NY), greengrassi (London, UK), Richard Telles Fine Art (Los Angeles, CA), The Chinati Foundation (Marfa, TX), D’Amelio Terras (New York, NY) and the CCA Andratx (Andratx, ES) among others. Group exhibitions include Museums Sheffield’s Graves Gallery (London, UK), The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art (Ridgefield, CT), Webster State University (Ogden, UT), The Hammer Museum (Los Angeles, CA), Kunsthalle Basel (Basel, Switzerland), MoMA PS1 (New York, NY) and Whitechapel Gallery (London, UK) among many others. She is included in the collection of the Brandeis Rose Art Museum (Waltham, MA), CCA Andratx (Majorca, ES), Hammer Museum (Los Angeles, CA), Haus Konstruktiv Museum (Zurich, CH), Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY), Museum Abteiberg (Monchengladbach, DE), Museum of Fine Arts (Boston, MA), The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art (Overland Park, KS), and the Ross Art Collection at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI).
